We are now in the final stages of choosing participants for this pilot summer. We received over 160 applications from 14 different countries, and have chosen a shortlist of 25 candidates from the US, Mexico, Guatemala, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Brazil, and Venezuela. Many of them will be traveling outside their home countries for the first time.
We have heard from amazing young people far and wide, from a border town in Arizona to the South Bronx, from rural villages in Colombia to Bogotá, and from Culiacán to Aguascalientes to name just a few places. They have sent us sonnets, collages, short stories and drawings imagining futures beyond the War on Drugs in which their communities can thrive.
